On behalf of Fort Portal College of Health Sciences, administration and staff, I welcome you to our website. We are very happy to become acquainted with you and help you succeed in your education journey.

As a principal of Fort Portal COHES, it is my pleasure to share with you the vision of the college. The college seeks to be a reputable health training college for sustainable social economic development.

Our mission is to produce high quality, competent and committed health professionals to preserve, promote and improve the health of individuals and the entire community

The college is a government institution under BTVET in the Ministry of Education and sports. The college started in 1969 as a medical assistants school, later transformed into a medical clinical officer school. Because of the growing demand for human resources for health particularly Anaesthesia, Pharmacy, Health leadership, Medical records and Theatre techniques among others, the government of Uganda okayed introduction of the above course into the clinical school and hence name changed from Fort Portal School of Clinical Officer to Fort portal College of Health Science to incorporate other course other than clinical officers.

As a regular part of the school calendar, we have various activities for all the students including field visits, attachments to various Health facilities within Tooro Region and beyond for skill acquisition but also engage in co-curricullar activities like Music Dance and Drama, sports among others and this has put the college to a national glance. Each student has something unique to offer and we are here to encourage and nurture their talents as well as equip them with life skills.

We are extremely proud of the atmosphere provided by the management of Fort Portal Regional referral Hospital. The municipality of Fort Portal, the district administration and support of parents and guardians.

I welcome you to visit our campus on Mugurusi Road next to the Regional Referral Hospital. The school that produces competent Human Resources for Health for immediate care and treatment.
